Abstract

The Cinema of Moral Anxiety is considered as quite integral and coherent chapter in Polish Cinematography, but opinions concerning its artistic values remain sceptical. Dobrochna Dabert’s The Cinema of Moral Anxiety can be regarded as rehabilitation of that artistic and ideological formation and presents its full monograph. The author gives broad context for the films of that period (taking into consideration all important dimensions - time, generation, topics and politics) and also analyses and interprets the poetics and ethics of the Cinema of Moral Anxiety.
