Abstract

The seven films (1992-1999) by Hobert refer to typical human vices but do not directly refer to Christian ethics. The key subject of a discourse in his films is the picture of Swedish society. The heroes’ feelings and experiences are put to test. Hobert is mainly preoccupied with a mutual interaction of people. Although Bergman’s poetics and worldview are of importance to Hobert, his reflections are of more horizontal” and secular character.
