Abstract

Majid Majidi’s The Colour of Paradise (1999) and Abbas Kiarostami’s The Wind Will Carry Us (1999) are two interesting, albeit entirely different Iranian movies. Sikora shows that the issue of time is the key for understanding them. In brief, you can assume that settling in time (not controlling it) allows man to fully attain humanity. Although the dichotomy of time may be translated into opposition: traditional/modern way of life, it can also be said that modern man needn’t be unfamiliar with “settling in time”.
