To Include Yourself in the Film: A Conversation with Mike Figgis
Abstract
Mike Figgis tells Maria Pudłowska of the multifaceted character of his work (he is a director, musician, photographer, cinematographer and audio-visual installation artist), of the development of his theatre and film career, and his masters. Figgis also speaks about what he thinks is the key issue in his work, i.e. image recording technology (he created a special camera stabilisation rig called Fig Rig for his film Hotel) and about advantages of digital camera that makes the motion picture a more democratic medium.
