Mediation-Medialisation
Abstract
All the fields of both present and past culture are or may be mediatized by digital technology and the growing number of its interfaces. It has a dual influence on the scope and ways of human perception. On the one hand, it leads towards new areas, introduces to new worlds and broadens horizons via accessing spaces once inaccessible. It expands our surroundings, accelerates communication and enriches environment. At the same time, while touching upon the fields we used to experience more directly it leads to the permanent functional and notional re-interpretation of reality. It affects the structures firmly established in our historical experience and changes the existing biological, physical, cultural and economic parameters of human existence. It interferes in our established system of values, overlaps with it, causes concern and makes our environment creative, dynamic and unstable in a forced way.
