Abstract

Giżycki writes about a two-hour documentary aired on TV by the CBS six months after the September 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Centre. The film was shot by French Naudet brothers who managed to film the attack with a digital camera. They originally intended to make a film on New York firemen but the WTC was attacked while they were working on the project. What’s amazing about the story is that the French did not lose their heads and did not leave the area but tried to get closer to the centre of the event. Giżycki makes mention of another accidental recording of the attack by German artist Wolfgang Stahle, who filmed Manhattan with a camera fixed in Brooklyn during a video installation via the Internet.
